Were teaching children they are exceptional because they are, which is wrong. What we should teach them is that, as Americans, they have the best opportunity to do something exceptional at least for now.
Actually we're teaching children that government is good and bigger government is even better. If the will to try hasn't been crushed out of them by the time they leave school, the smothering fungal mat of taxes, regulation, political correctness, and dozens of federal agencies will finish the job and it continues to worsen.
Flowery words about American exceptionalism are great but they're meaningless while we hitchhike to the space station on Russian Rockets from the 60s.
I think Putins words should be taken less as an insult and more as a warning. We should demand that our leaders explain what happened to American exceptionalism over the last 30 years.

Like the gas station robbery, the policy is let go of the money and let the expert government catch the guy. Right, and when the young fail today and rob themselves, their answer is the same: let go, the guberment will fix it - my pot addiction what not.
Result is that we spend trillions on pot rehab programs while beating to homelessness tax payers and blood paying soldiers.
