Not only is George P. Bush a heavy favorite in TX; I am not sure he has any opponent in either party.

I know he’s an idiot but if he’s running this seems a highly retarded thing to do. Does he want to seem “bipartisan”?

He gets his name in the news as one who is august, capable of bestowing an award on a worthy foe, a humble leader...

gag

It's all for air time, as to a politician air time is life itself. How else could a backstabbing crook like McCain get the GOP nomination?

The headline of this article reads:

Jeb Bush presents undeserving Hillary Clinton with Liberty Medal

Let's take a look at Jeb Bush. He is the grandson of United States senator from Connecticut. He is the son of a President of the United States who was also ambassador to China, head of the CIA, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, United States Congressman from Texas. He is the son of a former First Lady of the United States. He is the brother of a President of the United States who was also Governor of Texas. He himself was a governor of Florida.

Here he is lionizing a former first lady of the United States who was also a Secretary of State.

There can hardly be a family tree of a more established individual than this scion of the Bush family. Not surprisingly, his views on virtually every issue are contrary to our own with recent notorious examples including his views on immigration and common core education.

To say that this whole affair is operating within a bubble is hardly an original observation. Nor is it original to observe that this example of "comity" will be applauded by the establishment media and the image of both Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton will be accordingly burnished. In fact, those who criticize a politician who crosses the aisle to air kiss an opposition is to draw criticism from the media. So the establishment, not surprisingly, is firmly "established" and the media applauds comity within the establishment when it occurs and deplores contrary expressions of dissent.

One senses, however, that the times they are changing, with the new media and an awakened and aroused conservative base. There is a realization that the game is rigged and there is a growing facility to exploit the new media and social media against the establishment media. Unfortunately, the establishment has now grown so ubiquitous and so powerful that it is able to spend our own money against us and, where it requires private money, it intimidates Wall Street or panders to the likes of George Soros and his stable of billionaires.

The stakes have never been higher, the country is no longer slouching but racing toward Gomorrah, and Gomorrah appears to be at the bottom of the fiscal Cliff. In the face of this daunting situation is our duty as conservatives to soldier on.

In doing so I think we should operate on three fronts. We should utilize every facet of media to attack on the Washington front, to make Republicans inside the Beltway more afraid of us than they are of the media or our adversaries. If necessary, that implies running Tea Party candidates against establishment figures in primaries and in selected, repeat, selected general elections such as John Boehner's upcoming race in Ohio, run third-party candidates or even support the Democrat against especially perfidious Republican.

On a nationwide front, we should enthusiastically take up Mark Levin's Article V movement to amend the Constitution on the state level to de-establish the leftists who are running Washington.

Academia is the poisoned well from which much of this pestilence flows and it must be opposed. Academia was taken over by the left in the 60s and 70s literally, although partially, through acts of violence and there is no reason why there cannot be aggressive protests on America's campuses starting now. As a Protestant, I call for a shock troop of Jesuits to storm America's campuses and take back our intellectual heritage.

I will never, never forgive or forget Jeb’s failure to save the life of Terri Schiavo.

He needs to confess and repent of that sin. Isn't even considering forgiveness absent repentance vain and futile?

They are elitists, pure and simple. One elitist giving an award to another elitist. It’s all a game of politics to them.

This also tells you all you need to know about Jebby.

“The fact that Jeb Bush doesn’t see that Hillary’s being pro-abortion makes her an anti-American, anti-Constitution, anti-freedom traitor disqualifies him from the Presidency.”

Let alone all the horrific things she said about his brother during the Iraq war when our troops were in harms way.

Jebbie would have saved Terri if she had been of the “upper crust” like he and his own.

Many in TX still believe in the bushes, but I don’t know why. George P. is their man!

Whether he actually handed over the loot or not, he was there and approved of it.

Jeb Bush could become the press secretary for Mz. Clinton.

Why not. Jeb’s old man is best buddies with Bill Clinton. Just another example of how the members of America’s most exclusive club take care of each other and laugh at main street Americans for actually having principles.

The whole thing in a nutshell is that this is a "Liberty Medal" presented on behalf of National Constitution Center. This is located in Philadelphia, with great historical significance.

If you look at the list of recipients, it is IMHO a mockery of what this award is. For example, Bono? What exactly has he done to uphold our constitution? Okay, maybe he has done humanitarian work, but that has nothing to do with fostering the tenants of The United States Constitution.

The outrage here should be beyond Jeb Bush presenting the award. It should be directed at the fact that they are not awarding it to people that actually understand and promote the liberties and principles that the document was written to foster.

Hilary Clinton promoting the U.S. Constitution? She has promoted herself and that is all there is to it. I cannot think of one thing she has done that has not been politically motivated.
