The 35-year-old man police were aiming for was acting erratically around the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd St. and 8th Ave., sources say. Witnesses heard four shots, and two women, ages 54 and 35, were struck.

They need to spend a little more time at the range, and a lot less time at the union hall.
Hard to believe they could hit 2 people with just 4 shots.
Acting erratically? Was he armed? Threatening someone with a weapon? I ask because I can’t get the article to load.
A police source said the man "was agitated and flailing his arms.
Isn't this what the ignorant anti-gun doofuses, and a lot of arrogant LEO's also love to repeat?
That an incompetent licensed to carry civilian will carelessly and incompetently shoot innocents in a crowded environment?
Karma is wonderful!
I sure hope police across Texas, Arizona, Georgia, Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Alabama, Mississippi, Northern Florida and the Carolinas are not all this reckless and abusive. Though I’m sure many of the Yankee transplants in these states who get police jobs are a complete nightmare!
There doesn’t appear to be any mention of a weapon in the article. They do state he was “acting aggressively” and that he apparently had been hit by a taxi cab a few moments before the incident, but nothing about a gun or a knife, etc.
Of the two women that were hit, one was apparently hit in the leg and the other got a “graze” across the buttocks.
He’s waving his arms and acting strangely? It’s NEW YORK- that’s how they communicate!!! /s;)
If I got hot by a car, I would probably be a little aggresive.
Agitation and arm flailing are sufficient grounds for the use of deadly force? They couldn’t close on the criminal flailer sufficiently to use a taser? Heaven help us if the flailing arms of the agitator accidentally struck an innocent bystander.
Looks like she wasvhit in the right leg near the knee. That is going to hurt.
...and a lot less time at the union hall.
My grandfather, father, and brother never set foot in one --- because they didn't have one, or if they did, I knew nothing about it because they came home after their shifts.
As for hell I’ve been to NY. Once was enough. Probably saw the same guy.
Or he was doing the Funky Chicken maybe?
No attempt at physical restraint? No attempt to tase?
Was the man brandishing a weapon?
Stand in the middle of the street, wave your arms and the police shoot at you?
Glad I don’t live in NY.
Hit
Shoot first and ask questions later seems to be the theme here.
