Boehner Seeks Democrats’ Help in Avoiding Shutdown

With the Syrian crisis receding on Capitol Hill, Congress on Thursday plunged back into its bitter fiscal standoff as Speaker John A. Boehner appealed to the Obama administration and Democratic leaders to help him resolve divisions in the Republican ranks that could lead to a government shutdown by month’s end.

In meetings with Democratic and Republican Congressional leaders on Thursday after a session with Treasury Secretary Jacob J. Lew on Wednesday, Mr. Boehner pleaded for a resumption of negotiations that could keep the government running and yield a deficit-reduction deal that would convince b>recalcitrant conservatives to raise the government’s borrowing limit.

Much of the federal government will shut down Oct. 1 unless Congress approves new spending bills to replace expiring ones, and by mid-October, the Treasury Department will lose the borrowing authority to finance the government and pay its debts.

“It’s time for the president’s party to show the courage to work with us to solve this problem,” Mr. Boehner said Thursday.

Let’s see, With all the corruption oozing out of every Fed Agency that hits the headlines, the singularly most incompetent, Despotic Buffoon we’ve had yet in the White House, even the long time Dem owned Unions turning on Obama, the Syrian crisis he engineered Not cooling off,

Could someone tell my why it would be a bad thing if this Govt. shut down, at least until we can get a U.S. Attorney General whose not currently being held in both civil and criminal contempt of Congress.

John Boehner could solve all of his problems by simply switching parties! The Repubicans should be glad if he does; the Democrats probably would scorn hin though; so he will sit with his uninformed OH primary voters and create renewed havoc.

I don’t know, but I suspect the same $$$ folks who are pushing the GOPe to embrace amnesty are probably the reason the GOPe is trying to sneak funding for Obamacare through.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jul/30/top-gop-donors-party-legalize-illegal-immigrants/

Flooding the market with an oversupply of laborers lowers wage costs, and fully funding Obamacare lowers benefit costs.

The GOPe hasn’t found a way yet to stab us in the back yet still get our votes come election day.
