Hmmmm ... I don’t think there was any photography during the time of Mohammed in the 6th Century.
Of course, the muslims will then just claim that their advanced civilization created the sceince of photography only so it could be banned by fatwa in the 21st Century.
We were taught back in the 50s in the 8th grade that it had something to do with “Make no graven images.”
This was why the Alhambra and other sites were decorated with mosaics and advanced tesselations. Couldn’t depict any animals or humans.
I was actually surprised years ago to see pix of the Ayatallah on signs carried by Muslims.
Of course, the fatwah of the day depends on the phase of the moon or something.
