And eerily quiet. I live on the flight path for landings/take offs for my local airport. I remember being so saddened by the silence that afternoon and for the following days. I rejoice at the “terrible noise” today.

To this day, whenever I see another incredible blue cloudless sky like that, I always say: "Look, it's a September 11th sky..."
