Looking over the week's crazy developments, I can see only one coherent strand in Obama's foreign policy. He wants to make sure that John Kerry and Hillary Clinton will never be elected president. After sacrificing Hillary's career on the blood-streaked walls of Benghazi he had Kerry appear before the Congress and take positions utterly at odds with those he's taken all his life, supplied him with information disputed by other members of the administration, and had him make indefensible statements without any evidentiary support at all.
By way of example, Kerry asserted that the chemical weapons case against Syria was "undeniable." At the same time, the administration offered up a contradictory assessment that "U.S. intelligence has concluded 'with some degree of varying confidence' that the Syrian government has twice used chemical weapons. He told Congress that the military strikes planned against Syria would not be "war," although he conceded that there might be "boots on the ground" called for. He raised eyebrows when he said Arab countries had offered to bankroll an invasion of Syria. How do you ask an American soldier to be the first to die to advance the interests of the Saudis?
When pressed, he backtracked and said, "There will not be boots on the ground" in connection with the Syrian civil war. He asserted that 34 countries supported this endeavor. Representative Salmon asked for the names of those countries, and Kerry was forced to respond, "Uh, I don't have the list with me." We still have not seen the list. We do know that the British Parliament, in a very rare move, refused, and France's response seems to be "Like, call me maybe."

Every minute that Obama dithers, allows the Russians to install more and more of their S-300 missiles. They are going to be a problem and can shoot down our cruise missiles as well as our planes. Moreover, Russia is racing to Syria with more and more of these missiles and other military hardware. It’s time to mine the ports and harbors of Syria and announce in publically. That will limit Syria’s re-supply capabilities to land and air. Airports are easy targets for cruise missiles and aircraft. Supply convoys, as well as roads that are used to ferry supplies are also easy targets. If you are serious and want to hurt the Syrians, and limit Iran and Russia’s ability to counter our coming air campaign. I am against what Obama is about to do, but if you set out to take Vienna, you’d better take Vienna, which is why our military ought to surprise the Syrians, Russians, and Iranians with their ruthlessness. It would be the best deterrent for Iran, and would show them that they could easily be next.
Glenn Reynolds stole my idea.......Make sure EVERY Democrat VOTES FIRST because if Democrats see that there are enough Republicans that vote for this fiasco, they will change their votes Pronto.

Hopefully Obama is forced to abandon his pin prick plans because I’m pretty sure that’s all it will be. No way do I believe he would follow up with the force it would take to do any good.

good observation, yes indeed their “service” in O’s administration have utterly destroyed Hillary and Kerry’s political careers, insofar as the human eye can foresee.
but there is a second consistent theme to his policies, namely to expand, strengthen, arm, fund, and provide military protection or air cover or intelligence or secret warriors on the ground for the most extremely antiAmerican, antiChristian Islamicist elements, whether his Muslim Brother friends in Egypt or the AlQuaida-related terrorists he overthrew the Libyan government to install, or in Somalia or Yemen or Iraq or anywhere he can...today...

If firing a few cruise missiles into a country is sufficient to win a war, why didn’t we do that in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Maybe our Army War College has decided that the combination of a few missiles and NOT putting boots on the ground is the way to win wars in the 21st century, and Obama has been talked into giving this new theory a whirl in Syria.
When will this madness end, and how many lives will have to be sacrificed before it does?
In Vietnam,it took 12 years before we told the Russians that we were going to mine Haiphong Harbor,look at all the lives lost before that was done,do you really think Obummer will confront Putin with that?
To date, Obama’s delusional lies explain why for me personally, I cannot support this Syria debacle. "My red line is here, no its the world's red line not mine...." not to mention Ben Ghazi.
The way Obama handled Ben Ghazi is despicable. Obama lied to us and the world for weeks on end about the video and then went so far as to arrest and put in jail that poor Coptic Christian. Worst of all he refused to rescue our Ambassador, a State Department worker and two former Navy SEALs. There is no way I trust him with Syria.
His lack of strategic thinking, his lies - my vote - NO TO SYRIA and a NO CONFIDENCE VOTE FOR OBAMA.
