White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough asserted that a "common-sense test" rather than "irrefutable, beyond-a-reasonable-doubt evidence" makes the Syrian government responsible for a chemical weapons attack that Obama says demands a U.S. military response.
McDonough acknowledged the risks that military action could drag the U.S. into the middle of a brutal civil war and endanger allies such as Israel with a retaliatory attack.

Now there's an early morning example of humor.

The Entitlement Nation
Well, WH makes some sense in terms of international law basics which is about to blame a government for any grave violation (or failure to counter it) within national borders but it is too much cynical to apply such a reasoning to a current Syrian situation and demand air strikes as a punishment.
Is this anything like the video common sense for Benghazi? One has to believe then, there is another video. It’s only common sense.
Yeah, something like 119, 000 dead so far. Now we’re supposed to be up in arms (literally) over a few hundred more deaths? Dead is dead. I don’t think the other 118, 000 dead feel particularly glad they were shot, blown up, decapitated, etc. If you are going to act, act to make a difference, not just send a message. However, I don’t think we should do anything. Neither side is an ally. Neither side’s hands are clean. Neither side is deserving nor worthy of our support.
Common sense???
Like 6 Muslim bro advisors?
Like a video caused Benghazi?
Like the Fort Hood killings were workplace violence?
Like a Kenyan sodomite is a natural born citizen?
I’m all for common sense.
I used to think Obama would become only a minor skidmark in the panties of history. If he rejects Congress’ rejection of this bombing caper of his and goes ahead with it anyway, he will be forever known as OBOMBA. Let the impeachment begin.
“Common sense says that if you have a commanding lead in a football game, theres no need to throw a hail Mary pass down field.”
Bravo...was trying to think of a clever way to say exactly that!!!
‘Common-sense test’ tells me if the White House wants this then it will definitely hurt America.
IF little barry bastard boy bombs Syria, PERHAPS competent Syrians living in the US of A will frame a suitable personal response to be delivered to little bastard boy.
They’ve already been protesting against Obama’s war in Detroit.
Weapons. Grade. Stupid.
I can’t believe an administration member is using that language to say we should bomb a country.
Common sense says this entire crew should be tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail!
From the leftist playbook: If the facts don’t help your argument state or imply your opponent is ignorant, dumb or lacks “common sense”.
Common sense with the Obama administration? Oh Puleeeezzze!
Common sense? Translation: we don’t have any evidence.
At Zero Hedge - High-Level U.S. Intelligence Officers: Syrian Government Didnt Launch Chemical Weapons The Obama administration has selectively used intelligence to justify military strikes on Syria, former military officers with access to the original intelligence reports say, in a manner that goes far beyond what critics charged the Bush administration of doing in the run-up to the 2003 Iraq war. According to these officers, who served in top positions in the United States, Britain, France, Israel, and Jordan, a Syrian military communication intercepted by Israels famed Unit 8200 electronic intelligence outfit has been doctored so that it leads a reader to just the opposite conclusion reached by the original report.
We don’t. But apparently obama or his cohorts do. Wonder why, what he’s really after.
Common Sense indicates that Bammy is irresponsible.
