In a world that wasn't FUBAR, the 'rats should have abandoned him long, long ago. Like maybe before the '08 Convention.
Now they (and the rest of us) have got the Full Monty of Chicago politics, only this time the bums have got the US Treasury for a slush fund, a sleazebag Cook County ward heeler running every gummint agency in sight, the FBI/NSA/who-knows-who-else to give 'em the dirt on anybody who'd even think about threatening their scam and a "news" media to take care of those few that aren't dirty by slandering them into silent oblivion.
I should imagine that there are many (regardless of political/social temperament) who'd like to see the end of this crap, but....
Being point man really, really sucks sometimes, and this scrap has no way it's going to end well.
