A chilly Arctic summer has left nearly a million more square miles of ocean covered with ice than at the same time last year – an increase of 60 per cent.
The rebound from 2012’s record low comes six years after the BBC reported that global warming would leave the Arctic ice-free in summer by 2013.
Instead, days before the annual autumn re-freeze is due to begin, an unbroken ice sheet more than half the size of Europe already stretches from the Canadian islands to Russia’s northern shores.
The Northwest Passage from the Atlantic to the Pacific has remained blocked by pack-ice all year. More than 20 yachts that had planned to sail it have been left ice-bound and a cruise ship attempting the route was forced to turn back.
Some eminent scientists now believe the world is heading for a period of cooling that will not end until the middle of this century – a process that would expose computer forecasts of imminent catastrophic warming as dangerously misleading.

The politics of climate change is a hoax.
Climate change itself is real, happens and is IMO part of the normal earth cycle that spans over so many generations that we haven’t figured a pattern out yet.
I wish it were just a hoax. There was big money transfers in getting people to fear it and having the governments do something unmeasurable to solve it. IIRC Kyoto and a few other measures were an attempt in the range of TRILLIONS of dollars/euros of monetary transfers. If they had done any serious implementation, they would have claimed success. Since they were never able to, the claim is one of many money transfer attempts from the poor and middle class to the rich.
Obamacare is another. I like the real name, the Affordable Crappy HEalthcare insurance act. It only guarantees insurance, not treatment.

Has anyone noticed that so far in 2013, as we are right at the peak of the season, there hasn’t been a single hurricane in the Atlantic?
By this time last year, there had already been seven hurricanes.
