Crime up among No. 1 plant staff

JIJI

FUKUI, JIJI – The number of decontamination workers in Fukushima Prefecture suspected of committing crimes has been rising, bringing the total to 101 as of the end of August, the National Police Agency said.

The rise is likely due to an increase in the number of workers brought into the prefecture to meet growing demand for decontamination work, an NPA official said Thursday.

Wouldn’t this likely mean that they are using “temporary” workers? There were reports that men who were basically homeless were recruited to work in hazardous areas - is it possible this crime is due to homeless workers?

Yakuza recruits: homeless people, people who owe money to Yakuza, people whose life is back against the wall and about to have a free fall. Now they are pushed into working around dangerous level of radiation. That is, many of them don’t really care one way or another. It is natural that those people behave this way.

Sounds like they brought in scum to work and they brought along their bad behaviors. Decent workers have long since left to find jobs out of the glow area.
