Former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s (D-N.Y.) friends believe that, while his campaign for mayor may have become a joke, it will set him up for a future political comeback.
New York voters puzzle over why Weiner stays in the race despite constant ridicule. The city’s tabloids pump out streams of headlines punning on his name while late-night comics have made him a national punch line.
Instead of dropping out, Weiner has embraced the media maelstrom in a calculated gamble that voters would respect his toughness and dedication to their issues.
A new documentary by Stateless Media captures Weiner’s unorthodox campaign strategy, which sometimes resonated and, other times, fell flat with voters.
Weiner’s friends say he is setting himself up for a comeback in another race and another year.
Bill Brandt, a close friend of Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, said Weiner’s campaign will clear the way for a future run for office.

They are just doing it for spending money; they have no vested interest in the campaign. Weiner will stay in the race until the money is gone either way.

New York has many flaws, but it is pretty obvious that the jerk factor surrounding this Weiner is far too high for the electorate there.

As long as there are pubic offices available, Weiner will rise to the occasion.
Don’t laugh. Look at Slick Willy ... he’s the darling of the press and the Progressives .... just about any a$$hole can make it in NYC and the other Progressive rat holes of the world.
I prefer Clinton/Weiner. It keeps Hillary associated with this deviant behavior.
I wouldn’t trust him with my dog. I wouldn’t trust him as grave digger. I can’t think of a job I would trust him with.
