Thats like saying the Romney used his kids to appeal to white voters.
As for tribal, that describes a lot of white people as well.
Well, you’re wrong twice.
First, there’s a simple way to prove which group, blacks or whites, are more tribal when it comes to elections — look at how those communities voted in past elections when it was a member of their race vs. somebody outside their race. When you look at those statistics, you’ll see that there is no equivalency. Black people vote almost monolithically for the black Leftists candidate over the white Leftists candidate whether it was Jess Jackson vs. Dukakis, Obama vs. Hillary Clinton, and countless mayoral races. The white vote is always split much more evenly between the white candidate and the non-white candidate.
Second, your analogy to Romney is a false one. It may have been legitimate if Romney used his white children in speaking roles in his commercials to specifically address race issues, but Romney did not do that. De Blasio has been using his mixed child in his commercials to specfically condemn stop-and-frisk as racist, and to suggest that his father better understands issues pertaining to black voters than other candidates.
You don’t agree with me?
