The newly announced Trail Life USA expects to become a premier Christian organization for boys and young men when it fully launches in the new year.
Its goal is to counter the moral free-fall of the nation, and raise a generation of faithful husbands, fathers, citizens and leaders, organizers told the national inaugural convention in Nashville, Tenn., Friday night.

Trail Life USAs name, drawn from more than 300 options, was carefully vetted and is intended not to be political or controversial, organizers said.

Our whole life is about the trail, both in the outdoors and in the journey of life as believers, he said. So Trail Life is a way of life that is centered on following Christ in the outdoors.

However, it will not admit youth who are open or avowed about their homosexuality, and it will not admit boys who are not biologically male or boys who wish to dress and act like girls.
Adult leaders of Trail Life USA will be Christians who sign a statement of faith and submit to background checks. Both boys and adults will be required to adhere to a code of conduct.

Think I’ll post that to my profile page.
Homosexual lawsuits in 3...2...1...
Bump
Yep. They don’t want in they just like to create trouble because King Queer is in power right now
So if they think they might be homosexual then they can join, but once they become convinced of it they have to go?
I’m passing this on to my acquaintances who took their young men out of scouts; however, I agree w/post #3, lawsuits on the horizon.
Not that the organizers should let that stop them.
Sort of like the alternatives to AARP.
Why?
It will be an indoctrination society dedicated to increasing take in the collection plates
I have those posted on my profile page, too.
Speaking of which, is there a consensus as to the best alternative? Hate to join something that will be gone in a couple of years. Kinda like the GOP.
Insert eyeroll gif here.
Upset because they don't include snarky atheist?
The very best thing they can do is to provide supervised and chaperoned activities between boys and girls of their age, whose emphasis is not the activities, but interaction. Gender segregation is to be prevented.
The lack of cross-gender communications in childhood results in some severe problems down the road, including an inability to eventually socially meet others, date them, and marry one you like. They still *want* to mate, but otherwise are asocial or antisocial.
Children need a male role model, a female role model, and to see them constructively interacting. They do not know how to do this instinctively, and left to their own devices they tend to not form satisfactory relationships.
I agree with your assessment that a lack of healthy interaction leads to problems down the road. But having been to camps growing up that were in one case 6 weeks only guys and shorter co-ed camps both had good aspects. Does everything have to cater to inclusion? Aren’t there some aspects and activities for boys that would be hampered by the inclusion of girls?
I had a severely handicapped kid in my boyscouts when I was young and the whole group therefore couldn’t do most of the outdoor activities which kinda sucked and made us the laughing stock when awards were presented. .
I think you are right emphasizing a need for healthy interaction I just think there is also a time for non-inclusion.
I quite agree. Most of the time, boys and girls should be off, respectively, with men and women. Perhaps a good opportunity would be that breakfast and lunch are with their own gender, dinner is both genders and uniform formal, and supper is casual wear and clean up.
This creates lots of opportunities. For example, formal dinners can be used to teach dining etiquette and table manners, with each table having a man on one end and a woman on the other, who host the table and set the rules. It is less about eating than manners and appearance.
Supper is the real meal, and when it is over, everything in the dining hall is cleaned by everyone. Lots of opportunity for boy-girl cooperation.
I don’t think there will be lawsuits; the Boy Scouts were exposed because they often used public property (and the Girl Scouts were OK because they allowed perverts - they could use Caesar’s buildings).
I’m glad all these various Christian denominations opposed to the BSA are working on creating an umbrella organization that is an alternative to the BSA. That being said, I think they also need to open the organization to practicing Jews and other other faiths that share traditional values (i.e. a practicing Buddhist who opposes homosexuality and wants to join Trail Life USA).
I hope they do well. It’ll be interesting to follow their progress.
I don’t think there’s anything in either charter that prevents practicing Jews from joining. We both worship the same God. What’s the issue?
