I don't know where the one in the picture was made (it's just a picture of the same model as the one I have, not of my gun itself), but mine is Australian made, manufactured by the Lithgow Small Arms Factory of NSW that has been making guns for the Australian Defence Force for over 100 years. Like most of the weapons made there, it's a foreign design made under licence - in this case, the original design comes from Belgium.
It's a L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle. It was the standard rifle of the Australian Defence Force during most of the 1970s and 1980s, which is where I learned to use one.
