White House considering prime-time address as Obama presses case for Syria

... Obama, arguing for an attack on Syria but confronted with a war-weary public and deep skepticism in Congress, is considering the gravest option any president has to sell a military strike — a prime-time address to the nation.

Members of Congress, during two days of occasionally combative hearings on Syria earlier this week, have pushed for the president to make a more direct case to the public before the United States punishes Syria for using chemical weapons.

However, the delay of any possible strike only shows that the goal has nothing to do with chem WMDs since that goal requires stealth and quick action prior to their being hidden. No, a strike delay only makes it more clear that the goal, the remaining “stealth” goal, is to change the balance of power from the currently winning Assad to the Al-Qaida-based anarchy-seeking middle-east-turmoil-seeking recently-arriving-to-Syria Benghazi-supplied rebels.

Indeed, the delay of getting Congress in line is HELPFUL to 0’s cause, as it allows more time for more outsider jihadists to enter Syria.

Even with incontrovertable evidence Assad used WMDs on his own people, he has NO CHANCE of showing that has any impact on US security. Without any approval by an international body, he has no legal footing for launching a war on a country unless he can show the threat, which he cannot i.e. if Syria was a threat to us with its wmds, they would have used them against us already.

Someone should ask him the source of those wmds Assad has, now that would be interesting because he would then blame Bush! Lastly, if the use of WMDs is so significant to our interests, why did he not feel the use of WMDs by Saddam against the Kurds was not sufficient reason to go into Iraq?
