Jay Leno joked several nights ago that, [I]n his speech about the economy, President Obama said weve all been distracted by phony scandals, and its time we started getting distracted by the phony recovery.
Unfortunately, a phony recovery is exactly what it is. Wayne Allen Root wrote an article several days back explaining whats wrong with the US economy. Collapsing jobs, fall in income, falling wages, rising poverty the recovery doesnt exist. Things are worse today than they were before.
For example, now over 97% of net new jobs created this year are part time. Yes, that means that the only reason the unemployment rate is going down is because the feds are counting part time work like its full-time wo

I thought since the Clown is going to have his stooges release some lies about jobs today, we ought to recall the truth about his disastrous economy.
Yeah, but the economy doesn’t matter now that we’re going to war again. But of course, the A-rabs are going to pay for this one, just like Iraqi oil was supposed to pay for the Iraq war.
“Everything about the community organizer is phony as hell.”
I thought that things would improve (and O would lose his re-election bid) as this became obvious to all. Reality has set in, and I realize how right Romney was about 47% of the vote. People getting checks from the gubmint (whether welfare, disability, social security, or paychecks) will always vote for the one they believe will keep them coming; the rest of us just have to pay pay pay.
We must be kin. . . . We think alike. . . .
Maybe; I don’t have family in FL, and my condolenscences if you have family up here in NJ...
Bingo. We're going full Detroit Mode.
Check my tagline..
If you work just ONE HOUR. during the reference week, you are considered “employed”.
There never was a recovery.
It seems there are a lot of racists at the g20 summit, too. An “economic summit.”
So, I have a suggestion for this dilemma.
Many businesses are in business parks, all clustered into the light industrial zones of cities.
What would happen if businesses worked together and swapped employees with the businesses across the road? So they would work 3 days for the one business and then 2-3 days for the business across the street? Same locale, everyone works full time, and the work gets done, without Obamacare.
Until the default and inevitable loss of reserve currency status. The 35% haircut and fiscal re-organization will favor the makers over the takers. Pensions and social services will be hit hardest.
“Check my tagline..”
Spot on; the Repubs either eke out 51% or they lose. The Dems start at 47%...
“The 35% haircut and fiscal re-organization will favor the makers over the takers. Pensions and social services will be hit hardest.”
As long as the makers are competing with cheap foreign labor, I don’t see much gain there. In terms of pensions/social services, they are already being hurt by the unofficial inflation that is increasingly eating away at the makers’ incomes.
