Latest scuttlebutt is that he is hoping the thing gets filibustered in the Senate. He can then claim to have the 51 votes of support and yet be able to rail against GOP obstructionism AND get off the hook for his red line comments.
Well, we know that both sides will be looking for political cover and pointing fingers...I really don't care as long as we stay out of Syria. The worst thing that could happen IMO would be us going in on the side of the rebels and things escelate and we basically end up providing air superiority for there eventual victory...only for Russia or somebody to prove that the rebels were responsible for the gas attack.
