Kerry vs. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz: No contest (Washington Post's House "Conservative" with Kerry)
The Washington Post ^ | September 4, 2013 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 09/05/2013 10:30:31 AM PDT by Colonel Kangaroo

In testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary of State John Kerry did a bang-up job debunking the nonsense coming from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) that retaliating against Bashar al-Assad would make it more likely he’d use WMDs again:

I have to say, in denying reality, namely that WMD use isn’t going to stop unless we do something, and in castigating those concerned about U.S. credibility in the world, Rand Paul demonstrates how unworthy of leadership his faction of the GOP would be. (I would say the same of the far left of the Democratic Party.) If he becomes the face of the GOP, Democrats will establish a monopoly on national security reliability they could only have dreamed of during the Reagan-Bush years.

Maybe Kerry should go chat with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) as well. Cruz’s supporters bristle at the notion he is “isolationist,” but on talk radio he sounds just as out to lunch as Rand Paul. Cruz insisted on Tuesday that we have no stake in Syria and bizarrely says we should not be “al-Qaeda’s air force.” Good golly...

Continued USA "world stewardship" is more important to this lady than constitutinal conservative principle or the will of the people.

The will of the people is for elections. If the will of the people is informed by the constitution and the politicians is not , then the people have recourse to remove the guy.

But this is not mob rule. We vote these people in to work for is defending the constitution which protects us while we live our lives within that system which is designed for that purpose

The will of the people, in this case, seems to be informed by a basic knowledge of our purpose. The Syrians pose no threat to us and we are not sending fine young men in there to die when we need to preserve them to protect us, which is their job

But, I gotta say, this writer’s tone is so obnoxious and delerious, even for the Post.

Senator Cruz is off the charts brilliant (Alan Dershowitz quote from his days of having him as a law student at hived)

She seems absolutely nasty but also foolish

Neocons stick together, it would seem. If Jennifer is a conservative, I’d hate to see their idea of a leftist. Oh, and nothing about that “stupid idiot” Sarah Palin in the article, Jen? You’re slipping!

I see no benefit is bombing Syria and killing thousands of Syrian Citizens with smart bombs and giving a leg up to the same terrorists that when they take over a village or a town, the first thing they do is kill all the christians and burn down their churches.

We should never drop any bombs on anybody unless we have a compelling reason to do so. The compelling reason must be to protect the lives of American Citizens and the security of the United States.

Shooting a “shot across the bow” is an act of war as much as if you put the cannon shot into the center of the hull. A shot across the bow signifies “surrender or die”. We certainly have no intention of doing anything other than kill a bunch of Syrians including innocent children, in order to teach a lesson to a man who is busy killing a bunch of Syrians including thousands upon thousands of non-Syrian Al Qaeda Terrorists.

By supporting the Rebels we are supporting terrorists.

Remember when GWB said that those who supported terrorists would be treated as terrorists? That there was no distinction between the terrorists and those who supported them?

One mistake and this could escalate into a shooting war between the US Military and the Russian Military. And we all know that OBAMA stands for One Big Ass Mistake America.

Hey, Jennifer, want to take a look at what’s going on in Libya? That was the prototype for the notion that we can lob in a few missiles, walk away, and the situation will somehow fix itself. Libya is descending into social, political, and economic chaos, and it is getting worse. Oil production is less than 20% of what it was a couple of years ago. Is that what we want in Syria, a temporary illusion of success?

Rubin is the same kind of conservative (i.e.: fake) as Brooks. She probably even has a pants crease fetish....

Likewise, harsh critics of the Bush administration such as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are now sounding the cry for U.S. enforcement of human rights and international order. That is an intellectual victory for conservative hawks and good news for dealing with future threats on a bipartisan basis.

She has a dent in her brain pan. Just because the Democrats have suddenly become war-hawks doesn't mean they'll work with Republicans on any future issue.

Maybe Republicans should show their doubts about Obama’s ability to formulate a policy on Syria and the rest of the Middle Ease by simply voting “Present”.

There is much more to wonder about as to what went down in Libya. Kidaffe was really assassinated for purposes of some other Arab nations such as Saudi Arabia. The Saudis are duplicitous people working the gold and oil game; all part of the ‘change’ Obama wanted and the ‘new world order’ Bush1 had in mind.

When Jennifer is in a twist, it is usually because her target(s) are gaining loft and she can’t stand it.

This is always a good thing, Jen in a meltdown.

This chick is a dimwit! She’s concerned about the GOP’s losing military mantle status? Syria has little to do with national security.
Human Rights Protection is the shield the ‘Progressives’ use to conduct their military maneuvers.
Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are the only sane people.

As I’ve been studying this, it seems that Assad is the only one giving some kind of occasional shelter to Christian dhimmis.

All of the other groups, the so-called moderate wahabis and salafis (Osama was one), and certainly the remainder of the “rebels” are jihadists, and jihadists kill Christians don’t they?

Obama has been fine with Muslim Brotherhood and everyone else in the world killing Christians.

Where’s the Bosnia-ethnic-cleansing protests???
