John McCain came on after Ingraham and mocked her, basically saying she was an idiot and smirking while he was saying he was a great military expert and she was nothing. What a creep. When is the old warmongering liberal going to retire? I would suspect that he and Ms. Lindsey are going to be buried in the same grave.

I guess my understanding of “neoconservative” is wrong....did Laura use the term?

Or is that the word the headline writer and author of the article used?

One of the arguments for intervention is that Ingraham-Limbaugh-Hannity-Palin would be in favor of intervention if Reagan was President.

What?

What kind of argument would Reagan be making that would sway us? Plus, if a short duration air strike was in order; it would be over by now.

Come on, BOR.

Regan wouldn’t have to make an argument - if Regan were President now, we wouldn’t be in the hugh and series MESS we are in (especially in the ME), nor would the US be mocked by Russia and the rest of the world. It might not be all sunshine (given all the problems), but he would be a thoughtful LEADER that surrounded himself with intelligent, wise people, all of which loved America.

You're either young or have a short memory.

Ever since Kosovo and Somalia, I have tried to be honest with myself about the use of American military power. I want to make sure my support or disapproval is not based on who is the president.

Of course I supported Afghanistan- at first. Then I saw our so-called leadership (both Bush and Obama) dithering instead of trying to win.

I supported Iraq, and still do. I have seen with my own eyes the tremendous good it did in the Kurdistan region. It’s been almost 3 years since I’ve been there, but I saw new building going on nearly everywhere. The Kurdish people, along with tens of thousands of Christians, Arabs, Persians, and Turks, are prospering and relatively safe there. It was difficult to think that entire villages were rounded up and exterminated by the bloody dictator we toppled. The Iraq war had a clear goal, even if our national leadership sometimes bungled the efforts.

I also supported Clinton on his hits against Saddam Hussein’s regime, but wished he had done more.

Would you care to share with us the who's, what's, when's, where's and why's of those uncaptioned photos? A few words would do admirably.

USN SW2 Robert Stethem, USA LTC and CIA station chief William Buckley, USMC COL William Higgins, and October 23, 1983. Look them up and learn their histories.

Bugged out, you mean. And then cooked up Iran-Contra. The people shitting themselves over Benghazi would do well to remember Lebanon.

The Unity Principle begins with Reagan.

It was Iran and Grenada that begins the notion that presidents have the authority to act beyond just an imminent threat. That a prez has these authorities merely as a part of exercising or implementing foreign policy.

The fact that Iran and Grenada were done unilaterally and not multilaterally is significant.

So Obama was willing utilize the Unity Principle in Libya because that was multilateral, but he can't(or wouldn't) in Syria because that would likely have been unilateral

Of all the foreign policy doctrines, only the neoconservatives are willing for a prez to intervene unilaterally, but only if it is a neocon prez.

Obozo is Bush Jr’s half brother. Exact same foreign policy.
And Bush Jr appointed more sodomites to his administration than Bill Clinton. He was a New England RINO, aka liberal.
Co-pays at the VA hospital went up about 500% under Bush Jr.
Under Bush Jr. the VA quit letting Cat 8 (non-service-connected, “high income” Veterans),enroll for healthcare.
And let’s not forget that Bush Jr. didn’t veto any speeding bill of any kind unless his last year in office. He gave us the worthless John Roberts, who gave us CommieCare. If Bush Jr. had governed like the republican he calls himself, there would have never been a Barack Obozo presidency. Obozo is Bush Jr’s gift to America. Some legacy to leave.

I would have to disagree with you.

Obama, on foreign policy, would be more like Bush the elder.

They shared some advisors: Kissinger, Scowcroft, Powell, Gates)

Ex-Guvs serving as the prez(Bush 2 and Reagan) will always be more assertive towards Congress than ex-members of congress(Bush 1 and Obama)

I wish people had remembered Lebanon 10 years ago when it would have made a difference. Yeah, Reagan bugged out. So what?
