Many of our younger relatives in their 40’s know former druggies who suffer from a form of dementia. Similar to the memory loss of alcoholics.
My wife recently spoke with a woman whose sister has the beginnings of Alzheimers and is in her early 50's and has a history of being a heavy drug user. Her sister's doctor told her that it was not unusual to see heavy drug users develop Alzheimers or dementia-like symptoms by their early 50's.
I hope not.
