“So I suppose what happened here is that they said what they would do, and we did not listen. Then they did what they said they would do.”

Fits Obama exactly and every dumb ass that voted for him.

“So I suppose what happened here is that they said what they would do, and we did not listen. Then they did what they said they would do.”

Applies to “Progressives”. Don’t you find that statement ironic?

Palin unnerved the Left more than anything in several decades. They saw the thousands who came out to hear and cheer her speeches. They saw the massive throngs of people who stood in line for hours during nighttime freezing temperatures for her book-signings.

They saw what Palin tapped into. And it’s their most primal fear... a populist/conservative revolt from mid-america, aimed against their elite power bases, within their towers of government, the media, and the culture. A direct threat to to their entire, constantly steamrolling, leftist agenda. The GOP and its dottering old politicos have never been a threat to them. But they rightfully saw in Palin something that could indeed derail them. Thus the unhinged hellfire directed towards her.

OK, fine, I'm willing to listen. When did Palin say anything of the sort?

Crickets. That's what I thought.

Yeah, we can look at this nut and laugh, but many idiot Dems actually believe that claptrap. Before the 2008 election I mentioned to one of my lib sisters what was going to happen if a leftist like Obama was elected. And she said oh yeah, if Palin gets elected, everybody will be forced to go to church on Sundays and other religious things. I started laughing at her, but doubtless many people like her believe that stuff. They’re libs...they’ll believe anything they’re told.

I think I was most chilled, though, by the words spoken by the book’s primary character, a young New York lawyer named Greg, at the end of Chapter 1: “So I suppose what happened here is that they said what they would do, and we did not listen. Then they did what they said they would do.”

To rewrite that last little bit: "So I suppose what happened here is that [obama] said what [he] would do, and we did not listen. Then [he] did what [he] said [he] would do."

"We are just five days away from fundamentally changing America." ~ bhobama, 2008

I’d mentioned in a recent column a Squawker’s “prayer” that Ariel Castro (who kidnapped and held three Ohio women captive for more than a decade) would be stabbed in prison.

The answer to the prayer is "No!". Castro hanged himself yesterday. What a crying shame < /s>.

Perhaps the thing that struck me most as I read the novel is the relative ease in which most of Rich’s America — a country founded on the principle of religious freedom — gave up its rights and eagerly accepted the persecution of anyone who did not adhere to the ideals of its radical leaders.
I think I was most chilled, though, by the words spoken by the book’s primary character, a young New York lawyer named Greg, at the end of Chapter 1: “So I suppose what happened here is that they said what they would do, and we did not listen. Then they did what they said they would do.”

Is it just me, or does that not sound EXACTLY like what Obama has done with this country? I guess it's just another case of liberal 'projection'. They always blame conservatives for the things they themselves are doing, or want to do.
