(Reuters) - President Barack Obama has failed so far to convince most Americans that the United States should launch a limited military strike against Syria in response to a suspected chemical weapons attack by the Syrian government, a Reuters/Ipsos poll showed on Tuesday.
Some 56 percent of those surveyed said the United States should not intervene in Syria, while only 19 percent supported action, the online poll found.
The findings are essentially unchanged from last week and indicated that Obama changed few minds on Saturday when he argued that Washington has the obligation to punish Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for what the United States says was a sarin gas attack that killed more than 1,400 people, including hundreds of children, near Damascus on August 21.

I don’y usually watch MSNBC but it happened to be on at lunch today. I watched Kerry bleat about how the President as Commander in Chief has the power to declare war. Wrong. The Commander in Chief may determine strategies once war is declared but the Constitution clearly states it is up to Congress to declare war. I am not a libertarian and I don’t agree with Sen. Rand Paul on everything but I was glad to see him point out the blatant unconstitutionality of bombing Syria without Congressional approval. Funny how 0 was against the “imperial presidency”...until he became president.
My suggestion to Congress? Vote against “intervention” (aka war) in Syria. And if 0 ignores Congress and the will of the American people simply refuse to fund such madness. That $1 billion is better spent at home anyway. Sadly I doubt Congress has the spine to do either of those things.
Here's a case in point
