Britain's militant postal union yesterday warned of inevitable strikes as the dispute over plans to privatize Royal Mail becomes increasingly bitter.
Despite the unions upcoming ballot, the Government said it will not alter its decision to sell shares in Royal Mail in this financial year.
The Royal Mail said industrial action, or the possibility of disruption, was damaging to the business, especially in the run-up to Christmas, which is the busiest time for the company.

Well, a Christmas strike should endear them to U.K. voters and garner great sympathy for their cause.
What is their complaint about privatization? Do they not like the idea that pay will be linked to work? Do they not like the idea that their pay might not be decided by the politician they sell their votes to?
What is their complaint about privatization?My guess? Volume of mail has decreased significantly, given the growing popularity of electronic billing and bill pay, and they are objecting to having their numbers reduced to match the decreased volume.
