France says would not act alone on Syria if US rules out strike

France will not intervene alone in Syria if the U.S. Congress votes against action, President Francois Hollande said on Tuesday.

"If the decision of (Congress) was not positive, then we would not act alone, but we would not shirk our responsibilities, by supporting the opposition in Syria in such a way that would provide a response," Hollande said after meeting German President Joachim Gauck.

This decision was precipitated by the recent fire that destroyed France’s white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country’s military capability.

Cantor & Boehner aren't quite listening to Ted Cruz very well.
I wonder why.

Don’t worry. Our Saudi Masters have ordered the attack, and both Democrats and Republicans alike have fallen into line.

France is ready; white flags firmly affixed to all rifles.

Maybe France can help us to surrender.

I think it’s fairly well established that no nation in Europe, sans possibly the UK, is gonna take any kind of real initiative in global affairs like this one unless the US is holding their hand every step of the way. Hopefully it has turned out to be a huge alert for everyone who insisted it would be so much different under Obama.

It is a fact that over the past several hundred years, if you count up the number of battles fought, lost and won by European armies, the French have by far the best record in terms of wins, draws and losses.

It's their RECENT record that hasn't been particularly good.

“...French have by far the best record in terms of wins, draws and losses...”

We joke about the Frenchies a lot... I think they’re sad WWII non-performance and Vietnam debacle just flayed their reputation.

And I really do believe World War I just bled them so badly - just wasted a few generations of their sons - that they are still recovering from it.

After I read Horne’s book “The Price of Glory” my opinion of them changed. They were maniacs defending Verdun and took horrible losses in manhood that would castrate any nation.

There was a bronze plaque at one of the Verdun sites, Fort Vaux, I believe; it was put there after the war, by a mother of one of the slain French soldiers who died there. It says “Since your eyes have been closed, mine have not ceased weeping.”

You could say that was an epitaph for that whole generation of young men who never came home.

Very sad...
