Thanks for replying to the request for prayer. I have cautioned my Mrs about sharing our personal business; but in this case, I heartily thank her for bringing this to the forum.
Before she left for Portland in early August, we had a family gathering (for an early Thanksgiving) at my Mama's house. After the meal we asked Allison to tell us what her mission was about and then we shared our thoughts and questions, including her safety.
We offered some advice and reminded her of common sense precautions. One thing we did not do was tell her and her parents that she was "naive & gullible & downright stupid!"
On this forum are pretty good at diagnosing the evils that we see around us. Here's a young woman who wants to do what she thinks she can to shine a light into the darkness. Here's a young woman who naive enough to believe the commandments and promises found in the Word of God.
Is she aware that she may face actual danger? Yes she is. Does her family worry? Of course we do. We are not yet perfected in our faith.
But, we are far enough along in our journey to recognize that, to the best of her ability, Allison is responding to God's call on her life.
Rereading your post, I could resent the insulting tone it takes toward my family. However, I choose to lay that tone off as passion and heat of the moment. I will simply reflect upon the fact that it's usually easy to justify disobedience. It's often hard to lay aside fears and prejudice.

I hope your niece stays safe & protected. I am sorry for using the word “stupid”... that was wrong. But I do believe that many if not most white people are naive & gullible, especially when it comes to the racial hatred & violence committed by blacks against whites. A couple of years ago, I recall reading of a beautiful young blonde coed at the Universty of North Carolina, who was president of the student body. Late one night, she left her dorm for some reason, and was kidnapped, than sexually assulted again & again by a young black TEEN. She was desperately pleading for her life and quoting scripture to him, as he finished raping her & then strangled her. These young black thugs are feral demonic animals and are capable of any crime or atrocity. I hope your niece stays safe in the face of these very real dangers in our country by feral black thugs.
It sometimes gets too easy to become inflamed by stories of crimes & injustices on this site, that unfortunately are being committed all around us. That however is no excuse for becoming inflamed myself and using harsh, angry, vindictive words. My apologies to your niece & her mother as well. I hope & pray that your niece remains safe & protected in her mission project.
