We were two troops of armored cavalry on LZ Eagle WNW of Hue, Christmas 1968. About 100 guys, and there was, I think, 198th LIB who watched our stuff while 3 Chinooks flew us to Chu Lai, and after Bob Hope, 3 Chinooks flew us back. That was about 33 guys in each ship, even though their capacity was larger. We figured they didn’t want the whole unit blown out of the sky at once.
