Near me, in a black neighborhood, there is a convenience store run by an Asian family. They seem to be fairly new immigrants. The younger ones that work there are normally reading text books between helping customers.
The adult black men are normally huddled behind the store smoking and drinking.
Since these black men are my age, I know they had the same opportunity for an education as I did. We all went to the same govt schools.
