“Rape is mental, not sexual. Rape is to humiliate the victim.”
That theory was, laughably enough, coined by a radical feminist that believed ALL sex was not about sex, but that ALL sex was merely about dominating and humiliating women. Intellectuals kind of glossed over that and latched onto the idea as an ideologically acceptable reason for rape.
That’s one of those “pretty little lies” that people swallow to make the world seem a slightly better place. In reality, that little theory is an obvious crock.
At least for the majority of sexual offenders, there’s a special sub-class I’ll mention in a moment.
Sit down with a pile of police investigative reports some time, or read through some trial depositions, and that hypothesis of yours gets quickly shot to bits.
In my experience, most rapists fall into one of two categories: either they’re shallow, dim, opportunistic shitstains that see nothing wrong with getting their jollies however they can, or they’re fantasy prone weirdos that spend most of the day making up elaborate mental scenarios where they wear down the will of a woman with their sexual prowess. Overall, they’re both disgusting and repugnant human beings motivated by sexual satisfaction.
The only, ONLY cases of rape I’ve ever seen that were motivated by a desire to humiliate the victim and not by pure sexual gratification, is a couple of rare cases where 70, 80, or 90 year old women were the victims of home invasions and brutal, violent rape by persons that had a racial ax to grind with granny. In these few cases, racial hatred of a helpless victim and the desire to violate and abuse that helpless victim in any way possible was the motivation.
“It’s based on the sexual revolution theory that sex is always good, that it is never negative or evil.”
Not quite, close but not quite. The theory was originally brought forth by Susan Brownmiller, who claimed that rape was an organized terrorist tactic perpetuated against women whereby all men benefit. Her basic hypothesis was that all sex is not really about sex, but is really about dominating and humiliating women.
Academics and feminists on the left quietly ignored most of her central thesis, but latched on to the “rape is not about sex, it’s about power” business because that’s a pretty little Marxists lie that appeals to classism and sexism obsessed liberals, and because it’s a pretty little lie that makes the world seem a little safer and less threatening.
A quick read trough some trial depositions or police reports would immediately drive a stake through the heart of that crackpot theory, but the type of childish ninnies likely to latch on to it in the first place aren’t the types to either test their beliefs or modify them in the face of overwhelming reality.
I think both our theories are useful.
It's Geraldo!!
It’s hard to believe this guy hasn’t been “fixed,” (like Jimmy Hoffa) by some relative of a victim.
If they get an orgasm it has to do with sex and all those other arguments are just horse dung.
Rape is stealing sex. Peripheral activities are manifestations of perversion.
Isn’t sexual mental?
