While unrest in Turkey continues to capture attention, more subtle and more telling events concerning the Islamification of Turkeyand not just at the hands of Prime Minister Erdogan but majorities of Turksare quietly transpiring. Muslims can use the church as a place for their prayers but the God of Abraham will still not be listening.
I wish the Turkish Army would do an “Egypt” on Erdogan.
Hagia Sophia PING
Out-FReepin-rageous.
While disturbing because of the archeological symbolism, lets always remember...
Act 7:48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,
Act 7:49 Heaven [is] my throne, and earth [is] my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what [is] the place of my rest?
Act 7:50 Hath not my hand made all these things?
Act 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;
Act 17:25 Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
2Cr 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Purely symbolic. Church buildings are piles of stone and wood, and the Holy Spirit doesn’t dwell in them.
No not disturbing...
Pray, shout Alleluia, and look up for we are one day closer to our redemption.
While Hagia Sophia was a Cathedral during the Byzantine era, it was converted to a mosque in 1453 and remained so until 1931
Once a mosque, always a mosque.
Ataturk made it a museum in the 30’s.
This is what happens when the Turks lose a
secular government.
Free Hagia Sophia! Clean out the Turks!
Christians have been been prevented from worshipping there for 560 years.
Also, St. Peter's is more than 5 times the size.
Originally a church, then turned into a mosque when the pagans took over, then into a museum when Turkey moved into a friendship with the west.
Now, back into a mosque.
How long until the hordes try to run over the Vatican and turn that into a mosque?
Or Buckingham Palace?
Or the White House?
Typical liberal reporting - devoid of the central facts.
First, never think that "purely symbolic" means "purely unimportant." Symbols, good and bad, join couples, found dynasties, enlighten minds, inspire strategists, spark crusades, mislead heroes, end civilizations. Millions of people live and die for symbols and what they symbolize.
Second, Moses, inspired by the Holy Spirit, told the Israelites to "Bring the best of the firstfruits of your soil to the house of the Lord your God." People still bring their "best" to the temple: their arts and architecture, their history, liturgy, destiny. For God: who is everywhere, and dwelleth not in houses made by hands: and yet He loves these houses of His, because We His children make them to please Him.
He lives in hearts; but Christian sanctuaries belong, as well, to Him.
This happened about 560 years ago.
Not likely - they missed their chance and Erdogan has since jailed most of the senior officers. Egypt learned from the Turkish military’s mistake.
