Aetna pulls out of another Obamacare health exchange

(Reuters) - Aetna Inc has decided not to sell insurance on New York's individual health insurance exchange, which is being created under President Barack Obama's healthcare reform law, the fifth state where it has reversed course in recent weeks.

The third-largest U.S. health insurer has said it is seeking to limit its exposure to the risks of providing health plans to America's uninsured, but did not give details about its decision to pull out of specific markets.

"We believe it is critical that our plans not only be competitive, but also financially viable, in order to meet the long-term needs of the exchanges in which we choose to participate. On New York, as a result of our analysis, we reluctantly came to the conclusion to withdraw," Aetna spokeswoman Cynthia Michener said.

The New York decision comes as states finalize the roster of health plans that will be offered to millions of uninsured Americans beginning on October 1.

Had the gutless wonders at Aetna and the other insurers not fallen for Obama’s lie that insuring millions of uninsured would be a windfall for their companies, they wouldn’t be in this mess today. But they and Big Pharma had visions of taxpayer-funded profits dancing in their heads as they signed off on this disastrous program, giving cover to the Democrat take-over of 1/6th of our economy. They deserve to go broke under the weight of this monstrous scam.

Obama's not a president he's a traveling salesman---making all kinds of empty promises----hoping to score bigtime for himself. Obama estimated hundreds of millions in revenue from Ocare enrollments, fees and penalties. NOTE that's untraceable monies.

Connivers colluding in govt offices for profit ....that's the Chicago way--getting into politics is seen as a wealth-builder. The pols travel from one govt office to another---selling whatever is available. One Illinois ex-gov went to jail for selling truck licenses. A current jail-dweller tried to cash-in by selling O's Senate seat.

=================================================

Connivers colluding in govt offices to mount a profitable scheme? That falls under RICO laws. The paper trail and "patterns of illegal behavior" is enormous is enough evidence to nail these people big-time. Note: anyone can file a RICO action---how-to sites are all over the web.

=================================================

RICO PATTERNS---OKLAHOMA WINS FIRST OCARE BATTLE: AG Pruitt--- "Obamacare was meant to be so open-ended that it could mean anything. We are seeing thousands of pages of new rules being written, both by HHS and the IRS. The open-ended interpretation of Obamacare enables this.....if the law doesn't contain a particular provision, no problem. They just make it up as they go along."

Such is the case that involves the OK lawsuit.

AG PRUITT: “The court rejected the federal government’s argument that Oklahoma lacked standing to challenge the law, allowing us to proceed with this pivotal case,” “We’re optimistic the court will recognize what states have known for months that the IRS disregarded the law by making the large employer mandate effective in Oklahoma or in any of the 33 other states without a state health care exchange.”

It still amazes me that companies like Aetna sign on to Obamacare/Boehnercare in the first case, because it is designed to put it out of business.

Had Aetna for a while, the service was horrible. I think they recruit people rejected for employment at the DMV.

Healthcare over the years has become a frustrating, over complicated, and expensive service. SoeteroCare won’t reduce cost or improve care. Now, as we approach the end of the year, many of us will begin to find out if our employers will continue coverage, how much more it will cost, etc. Great...

I have $hitty coverage available for free (TRICARE). Used to get BC/BS thru another employer; it was very good. Aetna just flat sucks. Might as well save a little $$ and get coverage that sucks for free.

Agreed. I can tell you from first hand experience that all of these healthcare insurers are run by short-sighted, arrogant, politically ignorant executives. When the nightmare of $hitforbrainsCare was in its infancy, the CEO of HCSC (controls the BCBS plans for four states) told a group of its executives, "That she 'had a seat at the table' on how this monstrosity would be created." It was pointed out to her, repeatedly, that she and other CEOs were only being used as propos to add credibility to the legislation, which would ultimately result in the industry's demise, but she dismissed the warnings as "alarmist".

The fact that they were sitting across from liars, anti-capitalists, power-hungry socialists, and tyrant wannabes was of little concern; instead, they were convinced that their organizations would gain enormous revenue from the contracts to administer the nightmare, rather than be absorbed and destroyed by it. Pathetic excuses for "leadership", but consistent with the era in which we now live.

The best part of this is that my company, CSC, is building that Obamacare abomination in NY and last year switched us exclusively to Aetna as our healthcare provider. Schweet!

Isn't it an international business? I assume they'll find business in other countries...
