Herd Immunity
The peoples chemist ^ | unlisted | A. Chemist

When outbreaks arise among children, health officials are quick to state that it’s due to a breakdown in ‘herd immunity.‘ "Some" doctors parrot it too, without even looking at the research. They say it’s happening more often nationwide as states make it easier for parents to opt out of vaccinations.

Lots of (a bit of truth) stirred into this (grovel to the fed >> Vaccine Exemption request) Some really sophisticated Power points lining up with affordable health. Full press.

Herd immunity is BS. If you get the shots, it doesn’t matter what the herd does. If you refuse the shots, you only endanger others like you.
Who cares?

I do have some sympathy for folks who are concerned about the ever-increasing roster of required childhood immunizations.

However, much of this guy’s argument is weak, whatever scientific credentials he claims to bring to the table.

For example, he claims that the near elimination of polio came about not because of Salk and Sabin, but because of better sanitation and public health.

But if one looks at the data on the occurrence of polio in the US (rounded off to the nearest thousand cases) in the ‘40’s and 50’s it comes out like this:

1948: 28,000 cases
1949: 42,000 cases
1950: 33,000 cases
1951: 28,000 cases
1952: 58,000 cases
1953: 35,000 cases
1954: 38,000 cases
1955: 28,000 cases
1956: 15,000 cases
1957: 6,000 cases
1958: 6,000 cases
1959: 8,000 cases
1960: 3,000 cases
(and after 1960, never above the low thousands)

http://www.post-polio.org/ir-usa.html

So anyone can see the drop off in the occurrence of polio occurred precipitously in the mid-50’s - right when those vaccines were introduced and promulgated. One could make a case for a slow and steady decrease in incidences of polio due to better sanitation in the 20th century, but unless someone can point out some incredible advance in public health that occurred nationwide in 1955, I ain’t buying that dramatic a drop in cases of polio as primarily due to anything other than immunization.

it won’t just be your kids. they’ll come after you too, as you not taking one for the team can’ tbe allowed to go unpunished. the collective requires your obedience, even to crap science. see if big brother tells’you it’s good for you, it is good for you. if that means 2+2 equals 5, you gotta conform, youre not going to be able to tell big brother to pound it, it’s 4.

and guess what they gave up to 30 million people in those polio vaccines? sv-40 which they knew was in there, that caused cancer in people.

take you good govt little’shot and shut the hell up. it’s all good, don’t ever question your damn betters. who the hell are you to question us if we say it’s good. you don’t know jack.

There are so many things that can cause cancer. I’m sure not saying that their weren’t cancer causing agents in the vaccine. I don’t know. But given that all of us had to have a polio vaccination (during a certain period of time)....every last one of us should have cancer. The eradication of the disease was a miracle.

So many people no longer vaccinate their children. I guess that is their right. But with overseas travel so prevalent, I find it risky. Just because a disease has been eradicated doesn’t mean it can’t be reintroduced.

There was a instance in my state of twelve cases of measles. The way the news reported it...you would have been sure the sky was falling.

herd immunity has been proven to be a myth. if you get vaccinated and i don’t, how are you going to get it? if you can still get it and you’re vaccinated, this destroys the concept of immunizing the herd because the vaccine fails to prevent those vaccinated from getting the disease.

do you remember back in 2007-08, the people making the flu virus got the strains totally wrong - guessed wrong - so they didn’t have a flu vaccine at all for anyone that year. we had so many less confirmed flu cases that year than any other year.

Setting aside lung cancers, largely due to smoking, age-adjusted cancer rates (and since cancer is a disease of old age, that’s the only useful way to look at those numbers) have largely decreased over the last century.

Pretty much everyone gets immunized against polio; if the polio vaccine carried with it any *significant* cancer risk, it would be evident epidemiologically by now.

Almost all states have some mechanism for opting out of required vaccinations, and some (certainly not all) are reasonably lenient in getting them. If somebody wants to opt out of vaccination for themselves or their kids, that’s fine by me. But for my family, I’d prefer to risk some apparently negligible as well as unsubstantiated possible increase in contracting cancer over an environment in which hundreds of folks each year ended up in iron lungs.

Notice that big bump in 1952 - that’s when the vaccine was first tested and lots of people got polio from the vaccine.

it was the first eught-nine years of the polio vaccine in the 50s and 60s.

timeframe’irrelevant. government knew’and didn’t say anything. people were screwed. government is immune from prosecution.

now govt has made vaccine makers immune from prosecution. especially in circumstances where some scenario requires a vaccine that hasn’t had time to be tested, and people are made to take it. they now have delivery systems that thy can give someone a medicine and not even know it. they can put it in food or as an aerosol.

while most state have opt outs, some don’t. many that do have clauses that under certain conditons you can’t opt out. most make it tough to opt out and can force’you into a quarantine situation even if you don’t have any disease. it’s ridiculous. any excuses to punish those that don’t go along with groupthink.

if they’re vaccinated how does an unvaccinated person threaten them? they’ll have all those super antibodies surging in their system supposedly. why is it more people who get the flu vaccine, get the flu, at higher rates than those who don’t get the flu vaccine? the extra stuff in vaccines - the synthetic squalene, the formaldehyde, the thimerosol, the aluminum adjuvant - all weaken a person’s immune system.

I see what you are saying. But if none of the herd is vaccinated, as is becoming the case, a large scale spread of disease could very well occur. I’m talking about the “biggies”...smallpox and polio. As far as mumps, measles, and chickenpox most all of us had those as kids. We lived. But those diseases can sure wreak havoc on adults.

I’m not on board with the flu vaccine. There are too many different strains. There would be no way to make a “mega” vaccine that would cover all of them. Even if there was...the vaccine would probably make a person sicker than the flu would.

the greatest drops of disease occurred from hygiene improvements, public sanitation and water systems, and proper food handling/packaging improvements.

That is true to a degree. But I believe this country has had all the things you mentioned for many, many years. Now, if you want to ratchet things back to the 1800s or so, I’ll agree with you 100 per cent. That period saw wide spread epidemics of multitudes of diseases (some we don’t even hear of anymore outside of third world countries) due to lack of the things you listed.

That is totally wrong! Vaccines aren't 100% effective, so you are at greater risk when fewer people are vaccinated.

Also, children aren't vaccinated at birth, so unvaccinated people are creating risk for kids for whom it is much more dangerous to get sick.

It’s an issue because there are some people who cannot be vaccinated due to underlying medical issues. By having a significant % of the population immunized, the disease doesn’t have a chance to spread to those who are not.

well i am done with vaccines.

the preservatives in them are dangerous.
formaldehyde is a known carcinogen.
thimerosal is 50% mercury and there is no safe amount of mercury to intake into your body.
synthetic squalene is not good for the body.
aluminum inhbits the immune system and is not god for the body.
the government shields itself from damages, and shields the vax makers from damage.
plus now some vaccines only come from aborted cell lines.
God only knows what we will find out was put into the ones we are taking now, we know they lied in the past, no reason to trust them now.

often they have revolving doors between the vaccine makers and those in the fda watching them.

just their stupid way they push the flu shot just proves they don’t care about real science or peoples’ health, it’s about ensuring annual profits for vaccine makers and culling out the naive elderly who will become worse off because they took a flu shot.

won’t have anything to do with em, they’ve stacked the deck too much in their favor, they have no credibility with me.
