Congressional Black Caucus Chairwoman Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) said Wednesday that it was up to Congress to end discrimination in the criminal justice system and "to make sure that no child goes hungry to school or to bed."
Speaking at the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, Fudge said she was the chair of the CBC "because Dr. Martin Luther King acted upon his dream."
"In 1963, there were five members of the Congressional Black Caucus," Fudge said. "Today, there are 44 African-American members in Congress."
Fudge went on to demand her fellow lawmakers echo King's "call to action" by pursuing "the start of a new chapter in the history of this country."
"It is up to us, the Congress of the United States of America, to work together to pass a jobs bill that ensures decent jobs for all of our citizens," Fudge said. "Now it is up to us to ensure that we have a criminal justice system that does not value one life more than another. Now it is up to us to make sure that no child goes hungry to school or to bed."
"In Dr. King's words, we cannot and we must not be satisfied with anything less," she continued. "It is our time to make Dr. King's dream our reality."
“BC Chair: Up to Congress to make sure no child goes hungry
Why would ANYONE think it might be a parents’ responisibility to feed and clothe his/her child?

Marcia Fudge. You cannot make up stuff like this.
When do we get a white Congressional Caucus?
Maybe the Chair could be name Harry Honkey.
So glad everything is only about black people and not all the people. That is their problem they are only looking threw black colored sunglasses. they should open their eyes and see there are many shades of Americans.
So disgusted.
Ok, since the CBC doesn’t want to solve the family rot going on in America lets open reform schools all across America and house these kids like animals. At least that would get them away from non-existent parents.
One thing they could do for kids is throw Moochelle’s school lunch guidelines in the trash. The kids hate the stuff and throw it away. Give them something they will eat and they won’t be hungry.
Back door removal of all parental rights. We all belong to the state now (the state being King Zero).
While Representative Fudge’s heart is in the right place, she is evidently unaware that the states have essentially never delegated to Congress, via the Constitution, the specific powers to address the issues that she seems to be concerned about, the 10th Amendment reserving such powers uniquely to the states.
If she understood the Constitution that she swore to protect and defend then she’d be working with Congress to propose appropriate amendments to the states for ratification so that Congress could address such issues.

I thought that was the responsibility of PARENTS!
Here comes da Fudge
Silly me. I always thought it was part of a parent’s responsibility to make sure their kiddos were fed, clothed, loved, and taught how to be honest, upright, responsible, God fearing citizens.
I was always under the apparently mistaken impression thst it was up to the parents to make sure that their children were fed, and up to them NOT TO HAVE children that they couldn’t afford. Silly me, and I had a job all these years, should have gotten one of those magic food cards.
In ‘63 there were 4 blacks in Congress and today 44 — and look at how bad Congress has gotten. A shame there aren’t quality blacks in Congress instead of these dumb (flag on Mars - Lee and Guam sinking- johnson), racist lying blacks.
Tell her to give good advice about hungry children to Moochelle, who seems intent on starving school children.
If Marcia will send me her credit cards I’ll do my best to make sure no child goes hungry, I promise.
