I didn’t suggest it was a grassroots-driven conversation. I will absolutely acknowledge that the conversation may have been started as a liberal tactic against Cruz.
My point, however, was that there are FR birthers who have been discussing the constitutional questional of eligibility since 2008. I have a long (adversarial) history with them and I know, without a doubt, that many are good conservatives and are not liberals out to sabotage Cruz. There are certainly some nut-jobs, but most of them are interested in the constitutional question itself.
Having invested four years in their research, they cannot now change their opinions on the definition of NBC simply because Cruz is an excellent conservative. If they did so, they would indeed be the racists that the liberals accused them of being when they questioned Obama’s eligibility.
Now that I think about it, trying to prove that birthers were motivated by racisism could be another motivation behind the MSM conversation/articles. Two birds, one stone.
racisism = racism
Ugh.
No, for some of us it has to do with the fact our families have been here almost 400 years and they didn't sign up for the 'government-gets-to-tell-us-what-everything-means' philosophy many people seem to share today.
We know the document was written for a reason. It has nothing to do with 'racism'. It has to do with not being a Constitutional hypocrite.
IMHO, IF he runs, it's each person's own choice whether to vote for him or not, and I, for one, will not look down my nose and judge them for it.
Why? Because it's a justifiable exercise of their Liberty to do so.
