True that ...
It won't help the ratings. Ed's audience doesn't get home from Happy Hour until 8 PM.
“Imagine how their rating would soar if they offered a truly **conservative** alternative to Fox.”
Seems like such an obvious move, but no one ever accused liberals of being astute.
You said....
“OMG! Cannot conservatives and the R party see the opportunity that is opening up in America? The left is watching popular appeal slip away and millions more Americans are looking for some kind of hope and way out of the dismal future looming before them. Millions of Americans and people in other countries are recognizing that the socialists in the US have no clothes. This is the time to coalesce the people with a common sense conservative and positive message. This is the time for a positive leader to hammer the socialists and reassure Americans and people elsewhere that regular Americans have not all lost their sanity and that a brighter future is coming. Lets spread that message now.
Embarassing though it is, The fools of the GOPe are running toward the left, resigned to a demographic shift and promising a future like Argentinas past. When they have finally purged themselves of common sense conservatism, and arrive at their socialist destination, nobody will be home. Jokes on them.”
Post of the year
That's a good question. Any freeper who owns stock in a company that advertises with MSNBC should ask... Annual meetings happen once a year. (Ninety percent of this game is half mental. Yogi Berra)
What, their few remaining viewers have fled to Al Jazeera now that they have an alternative?
“Without the EEEEEEEEEVIL Bush in power and no Occupy Wall Street to fawn over, leftist skulls o mush have no reason to tune in.”
I always had the sickening feeling that was the same reasoning as to why megan Kelly was smiling like a hyenia on election night when Romney was getting crushed.
Everybody going to Al Jazeera America???
MY Lib relatives are going there for tv news LOL!
HA-HA, now I got you.
I usually hit the Fitness place after work at ~ 6pm when Rev Al Sharpton is on MSNBC and twice so far I have seen Cruz’s ‘tell congress to defund Obama-care’ commercial run during that show's breaks.
Yes, twice. Yes on MSNBC, yes on a Sharpton show break.
I pinged some of the others both times here on it. I don’t know who sold them that time, could be the cable company or MSNBC. But its pretty funny given your comment.
I saw it on FNC Special report too, runs at 6pm on at the same gym next to MSNBC.
” RE :Thats a good question. Any freeper who owns stock in a company that advertises with MSNBC should ask... Annual meetings happen once a year. (Ninety percent of this game is half mental. Yogi Berra)”
My favorite Yogi Berra “ That restaurant? Nah! Nobody goes there, anymore.....you can’t get IN! “
That's one of my favorites too... great minds and all...
Perfect minds....
I used to believe in this Serves-a-purpose philosophy, and figured it could just go on and on.
The problem is that the budget and resources folks at each organization now look at numbers and the contracts for everyone...from Marvin the copy boy, to Joe the producer....mesh with the numbers. If you have lousy viewership and your contract is coming up....the best you can hope for....is zero-percent raise, and maybe one extra day of leave per year. For some, the budget guys could offer a 3-percent pay-cut and you’d have to accept it.
With journalism at a low-point, and no place else to go...you stick around with a losing news organization. Eventually, you will get an attitude about this. It’s not about getting the message out....it’s just generating enough garbage news to fill sixty minutes. You end up with an entire staff like this. This is when folks start to create bogus stuff....like global warming causing baldness, or more dolphins dying each year than Latinos.
Do they have a count of the number of people who actually watch these programs? The numbers are reported in such a weird fashion that I never can make heads or tails out of them. As others have already mentioned, if you only have 100 viewers and 10 leave for the American Ninja Warrior finals, you’ve experienced a 10% (double-digit) loss in audience. However, if you have 1,000,000 viewers, it would take 100,000 moving on to other channels to effect a double-digit loss.
I could personally motivate 10 people. 100,000, probably not.
