Instead of a tax on firearms, if they were really concerned about urban violence, they would impose a special tax on the male organs of the inhabitants thereof as their
profligate use of the same generates masses of un-parented offspring which are the sources of this gun violence. They could use the proceeds to distribute free condoms. THAT would go a lot further towards controlling violence in the inner cities.
