But behind the scenes, an online battle is being waged between anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) activists, who are pressuring the Welsh singer to cancel his performance in Israel, and Israel supporters who express their encouragement and love for the singer.

A group of British BDS activists are circulating a petition calling on Jones to boycott Israel and cancel his show. The petition was already signed by more than 1,000 internet users. …

As of now, Jones is not caving to the pressure and did not cancel his performance, as other artists did in recent years. …

Oooooh, that's so scary!

I had no idea that Tom Jones was still alive, but if he has ticket-buying fans in Israel, he'd better get over there and perform.

My aunt saw him last year in Las Begas. She said it was a lot of fun. He is a generous man, though his antics are comical, and ha’s a mensch. I doubt he’ll cave

Jones is 73. I don’t think he’s too worried about pajamablogging protesters short-circuiting his career.

It seems like he was already a “oldies” performer when I was a young girl.

Anyway, I hope his Israeli fans get an enjoyable performance!

It is shocking how much of his voice has survived.

Dang, he looks pretty good considering what other people from the 60’s look like. Maybe that staying away from drugs and not becoming a drunk has something to say for it!

Or Crosby, Stills & Nash. And MOST of the others.

I surprised that McCartney is holding up pretty well also.

This old lady loved TJ and he sure could sing....I remember once interview where they asked him how his marriage had lasted so long (married at 16) He said he always introduces his wife to anyone as “”””””I’d like to introduce you to my first wife......thought that was funny...

I think Tom Jones will do what he wants to do and ignore the Jew haters.

FWIW, I believe a couple of Tom’s most recent albums have been gospel and otherwise religiously tinged. TJ just may be feeling his mortality creeping up on him, and doesn’t really care about being PC.
