Methinks the Statute of Limitations passed on this one a long time ago.
But Obama already apologized for this.
Sue in what court?
Then we’ll sue Iran for the billions of dollars in damages and thousands of deaths from terrorism around they world they’ve caused since the fall of the Shah. Then we’ll kindly ask all the mullahs if they would agree to meet with some our uh ....negotiators in the middle of the Iranian desert. We’ll uh ...work things out.
The CIA backed coup attempt failed. The coup supporters had the living snot beaten out of them by the Communists, who turned out in the streets in huge numbers to oppose the coup. Mossadegh was the leader of the Nationalist party and had been an opponent of the Communists, but now he felt bound to support them. They asked for the nationalization of Iran’s oil fields, which he agreed to and would probably have gotten away with. But then they also asked for the abolition of the Monarchy. That caused the Army to step in, and the people of Tehran to pour into the streets. Mossadegh was deposed by the Iranian Army, not by the CIA. The CIA would have been happy to kill him and they did try to do so. But they didn’t get him.
The U.S.A. will reimburse Iran as soon as we finish paying reparations to the “entitled” ones here in America.
So, Iran...JUST GET IN LINE.
Let’s have another one!
JUST LIKE THE OTHER ONE!
(Repeat.)
They should sue Jimmy Carter for his role in overthrowing the Shah.
