A former Atlanta third grade teacher tearfully testified Monday that she gave in to pressure from an administrator to cheat on standardized tests.

Stacey Smith, who taught at Usher-Collier Heights Elementary School, said testing coordinator Donald Bullock dropped off test booklets at the end of a day when students had been taking the Criterion-Referenced Competency Test in 2009.

Unfortunately crying afterwards doesn’t help. Having a backbone when asked (or even ordered) to do the wrong thing would have been so much better

The administrator is the one who should be “former” and standing trial.

As a retired teacher, I'm DISGUSTED. A professional does not succomb to pressure from an administrator to cheat.

If a teacher can't bring a third grade class up to a passing level, it's time for some serious soul-searching about career choice. JMHO

Basically gave in to peer pressure. Immature. Sounds like a kid whining blaming others for ones own decision.

This year Davidson county (Nashville) decided that

50 is the lowest grade given.

That ought to lessen a teachers reason to cheat/sarc

Just following orders wasn’t good enough for Nazi guards and it’s not good enough for any other government employee.

In the immortal words of former Atlanta 5th Grade teacher Shayla Smith: "I had to give your kids the answers because they're dumb as hell."

When this suicidal multicultural fantasy finally explodes, it's going to be really ugly...

Yes...the Nuremberg defense isn't. They should have stood up when it counted...Now they must suffer the consequences...hopefully.

Your wish has been granted:

"Donald Bullock: The testing coordinator at Usher-Collier Heights Elementary is charged with racketeering; false statements or writings (3 counts); and false swearing. He arrived at the jail at 6 a.m. Tuesday."
