Syria Accuses Rebels of Using Chemical Weapons

DAMASCUS, Syria (The Associated Press, Albert Aji) — Syrian state media accused rebels of using chemical arms on Saturday against government troops trying to storm a contested neighborhood of Damascus, claiming a major army offensive in recent days had forced the opposition fighters to resort to such weapons "as their last card."

State TV broadcast images of plastic jugs, gas masks, vials of an unspecified medication, explosives and other items that it said were seized from rebel hideouts. It did not, however, show any video of soldiers reportedly affected by toxic gas in the fighting in the Jobar neighborhood of Damascus.

Still, the claims could muddy the debate about who was responsible for an alleged gas attack on rebel-held suburbs of the capital on Wednesday that activists say killed more than 130 people. That attack has spurred demands for an independent investigation and renewed talk of potential international military action if chemical weapons were indeed used.

A false flag by the rebels using captured Syrian chemicals seems plausible. They’ve overrun some bases in the back and forth.

Captured or supplied by the US via Benghazi and Turkey.

Anything, everything, and nothing that comes out of Syria is credible.

Interestingly, the Saudi connection is mentioned, and as a reminder, the Saudis finance the Muslim Brotherhood and the MB's terrorist spin off Al Queda for the agreement from The MB and AQ to leave Saudi Arabia alone. These funds were used by AQ to execute 9-11.

The Saudis will cooperate with any entity that will operate to continue US dependence on Saudi oil. One such group is the Syrian "rebels" by agreement.

Saudis finance extreme fundamentalist Islam all over the world and never have to answer a question about it's effects. Assad and his father have killed more Muslim Terrorists (from the exact same organizations that have successfully attacked the Continental United States), than any other modern nation.

Yep, Assad's a bad guy alright, it's just that he ain't got the dough to pay of the really bad ones to leave him alone.

Interesting... I believe that a good argument could be made that they were part of Saddam’s arsenal several years ago.

Let both sides in Syria kill each other off. No problemo. There are no good players here.

True, but the virtue of the smuggled from Libya theory is that would be a secret dark enough to explain the extreme cover-up by Obama and Hillary.

I am guessing that the rebels were transporting the chem weapons or testing them and they went off. Then they attempted to blame it on Assad.

Unknown, but here are some reports on the "rebels".
