Charlie Rangel told MSNBC host Joy Reid that students shouldnt have to pay for their college education. But if you listen closely, youll hear him saying a whole lot more (h/t: Daily Caller): snip So basically what hes saying is that if America needs more doctors and nurses, the American taxpayer should subsidize their education as an incentive. Yeah. Because with all the doctors and nurses leaving over Obamacare, we are going to need more doctors and nurses.
Do you see where this is going yet?
After these students get their free medical education, how many years will they have to work in their new medical profession before their loan is completely forgiven? 20 years? 50 years? And will they get to work in the area of their choice or will they be told they have to go where our socialized health system needs them most?
Alaska? What, you dont want to go to Alaska? Then you can start paying back your loan tomorrow.
This is what Rangel is really saying because if the government, who controls the student loan industry now, gives you a free education, you will be in bondage to the government for the rest of your life. And this is how they plan to meet the demands socialized medicine creates. This is their answer to the problem they are creating with Obamacare.
This is why they took over the student loan industry.

Maybe Charlie wants to pay off my kids’ student loans. Have him call if he’s interested.
Charlie sees no reason he should pay his taxes!
The people’s revolution in China killed most the doctors and the party trained college students to be medical practitioners. A glorious era for China. Of course the government put a few hundred really good doctors in prison for their own personal use when needed for party members. The rest of the people died from lack of skilled medical care, which was a good thing because China had too many mouths to feed and shelter.
Bankrupt the welfare system. Break everything. This the way they plan to convince Americans to beg for a Communist society in which everyone is supported by the government. No money. No freedom. You will be controlled, but at least you will be cared for. If you behave.
They are pushing very hard for this. Time grows short.
Idiot. Who voted for this guy?
I am sure the Dems have some internal polling that shows them the just-out-of-college crowd living with their parents and driving a beater so they can cover the student loan monthlies by flipping burgers for less than 30 hrs a week are beginning to put 2 and 2 together.
“They are pushing very hard for this. Time grows short.”
Way too many people who live in the US, (I refrain from calling them Americans), are desirous of this.
It’s coming.
He’s really saying (what all tests and entrance exams and standardized tests say to kids -are you white non Hispanic because if you are ) no non white child should pay for college
This is in legislation already. It could be in the Obamacare- as I recall there was a rider that went through with Obamacare.
There has always been this sort of thing in Medicine. My best friend got national health scholarship loans from the USgovt when she went to med school at the U of penna in 1978 or so. She is a gynecologist and was required to work in a low income area in Phila for a number of years to pay back the loans and graduated debt free. It was no more than 10 years at that time, and might have been less.
Oh. Wait.
Well, it’s a complete disaster
There are a few intelligent and courageous people in high positions appropriately attempting to stop this
They might be the last
It’ll take even more talent and power than they have to turn it back once it’s put into practice
They haven’t got rid of any disastrous government plan that’s been put into action ever
In order to pay for education, the government would have to increase its spending. Government spending is mainly consumption expenditure rather than productive expenditure. Funds which are used for consumption expenditure are unproductive and are used up, and eventually simply disappear.
Also, changes in government spending cause changes in the pattern of aggregate demand in the economy as a whole. When government spending is increased, it leads to increased aggregate demand for consumer's goods and lower aggregate demand for capital goods. A lower relative demand for capital goods compared to demand for consumer's goods leads to reduced ratio of production of capital goods to production of consumer's goods, which leads to lower production of capital goods, which leads to lower supply of capital goods, which leads to less total productive ability overall, which leads to hampered capital formation and capital accumulation.
Nothing could be more harmful to the true interests of economy as a whole in the long run, and the standard of living of the average wage earner, than to hamper capital formation and accumulation.
Finally, trying to stimulate the economy by increases in government spending is addictive. When the rate of increase in the money supply is slowed down significantly, the economy will start having withdrawal symptoms in the form of a new recession. And if the money supply is not slowed down, then inflation will eventually hamper capital formation and accumulation.
Charlie wants taxpayers to foot the bill for college.
Now public school indoctrination will be K-16.
this @$$hole sounds like he came straight out of Mao’s China — we feed you, house you, and educate you (of course, you have no other options) so we will do with you whatever we want.
“College should be FREE for ALL” has been Liberal mantra for five or six decades.
Was reality in California and in Europe until the money ran out.
I know a local company where a fist-fight broke out among the engineering staff when they learned one of their colleagues here on H1B got his Masters Degree for FREE from his home country in Europe, while the rest were all mired in student loan debt.
