Old-Ager: The law isn’t working very well, but in trying not to cross the center line, I am starting to pass these people more closely, which they don’t like (more f*** you and fingers).
Actually it sounds like the law is just fine; it's just that you're not driving very well.

My speed is fine. I have been riding for decades, very heavily for the last one. No collisions or dangerous spills; it's great!

My protection is my alertness and my firm refusal to do anything illegal or stupid (since cyclist error if the cause of about 5 of every 10 cyclist fatalities.)
