This report made me think of my father’s brother, 92 years old, carrier pilot in WWII, dropping bombs on Iwo Jima from his TBF Avenger. He’s very independent, lives alone in his apartment, spry yet stubborn as all get out, drives the Los Angeles freeways (!), has a great sense of humor, and loves kids.
He doesn’t like to talk about WWII at all. But he has, to a limited degree, and the few stories he told were disturbing.
I worry about him, but he won’t have any of it. The world he knew has completely collapsed, completely vaporized, being changed into an unrecognizable, godless zoo.
If punks like this were to kill him, I’d spend whatever time, money and resources to see that justice was served.

There was a thread yesterday about Quantrill and his raid on Lawrence, Kansas. I’m not sure people realize that the climate in this country today is quite conducive to exactly that sort of brutality. There is hate and a lust for blood in the hearts of many. Safe to say this is true on both sides, but I believe the blacks now have this as an essential part of their self-image and cultural legacy. Gettin’ Whitey is what they are brought up to do.
So what happened to the story that the feds are going to pursue GZ for federal civil rights violations?
