He statement may be illusionary, but I will take him as his word for now.
All delegates to the Con Con will not be conservaatives. This is a bad idea to the 10th power.
Maybe Coburn's thinking a convention would vote on its decisions by state. That won't happen. Too many delegates would want the votes to be apportioned by population.
I could see a constitutional convention (if one ever happened) breaking up over just that issue.
The delegates to any Constitutional Convention will be made up of politicians. The thought of opening up the Constitution to the Pelosis and Reids and McConnells and Boehners of the world to “fix” it scares the hell out of me.
What difference does the language of the Constitution make? No one follows it now anyway...
Besides, would the asshats running the country then be referred to as the new “founders?”
A constitutional convention is the most dangerous idea I have heard lately.
Amendments can be proposed and voted on by the states if changes are required.
Once a constitutional convention is opened, everything can change. Do we really want to do that when the left control so much of the power right now?

The republicans currently control 56 legislative chambers and in 26 states the republicans control both houses.
We should just pass the Old Constitution.

Last night a caller on Levin’s show said that Coburn had mentioned Levin’s book at a town hall and expressed his support for the idea of a CC. Apparently the caller wasn’t kidding. Pretty big that a senator has latched onto Levin’s idea, I think.
I don’t know how delegates would be selected but if it’s by our present electorial process now in place or if it’s by political appointments we have much to lose. I would prefer to go by the original intent of our Constitution, even those who have subverted it know what that is. All we have to do is get past those in power today, democrats, elite and rino republicans and progressives.

The current Constitution should be enforced! It’s in-your-face NOT being enforced.
If you are going to do that, you better have 75% of the legislatures that you can count on.
More recently, it is difficult to determine which side of an issue he will land on.

I am too apprehensive, still. This could be opening a can of worms. Just because some say it will be controlled does not mean it will be.
Unintended consequences. They have done a lot of unforeseen damage.
