Once having a job that required extensive cold calling, I tend to agree. If NY, NJ or New England were on the docket you’d cringe just hoping to get thru the day.

Nicest people I found (at least on the phone) were in Houston and, believe it or not, Southern California.

I lived in the LA area for 26 years. The people there were great, but not like Memphis.

“Nicest people I found (at least on the phone) were in Houston and, believe it or not, Southern California.”

From the Seinfeld episode when the go to Los Angeles
Jerrys on a pay phone talking to the police

Jerry: ...Can I come right now? I suppose, where are you located? Where is that? I don’t know where we are. Where are we?

George: I don’t know.

Jerry: We don’t know. He says ask somebody, ask that guy.

George: Excuse me, where are we?

Man: Earth.
