Michelle--as I--is a Conservative who survived four years at Oberlin, long after my adventure there, while retaining her common sense, reason & principles.

Those who are not familiar with our Alma Mater will not understand why it is important. For one thing, it has taught us a great deal about those who embrace the cloudborne fantasy that passes for "analysis" in Leftist circles.

No the RNC is not really cut from the same cloth. They are not "Obie Liberals"; but in many respects, they might as well be. Let me outline, why they end up in the same "La La Land," down the rabbit hole with Alice & the Mad Hatter:

1. Most of the major Corporate contributors are overly focused on the immediate boost to sales from an increase in the number of consuming bodies within our borders. This focus on quarter by quarter benefits, largely ignores the slightly slower to accelerate, but enormous social costs (including Welfare & Medical costs, that will result from those additional bodies.

2. These same big donors like the downward pressure on wages, which will also result from having more bodies to fill what job openings there may be. (There will not be, as some propagandists have falsely claimed, any remotely like a one for one increase in available jobs, for each new body.)

3. In addition to ignoring the more readily observed social & governmental costs from the increased bodies within our borders, there are less immediately obvious costs, which are ultimately more significant, but often overlooked by the myopic immediate focus of the Corporate contributors, such as the over-crowding in our cities; the need for extra security; the loss of a reflective, spiritually rewarding ambiance in our parks & open spaces; the deterioration in our schools--already evident in the most afflicted areas, etc., etc. (Form your own list.)

4. Finally consider why--besides pure avarice--that the Corporate types refuse to focus on anything but the short term benefits to their businesses; why they even overlook the fact that the newcomers will pay less taxes towards the new costs, than those business men themselves--a trend likely to accelerate, as the Congress moves further Left as the new bodies get the vote.

You may call it being "politically correct." But the Corporate business community have been conditioned like Pavlovian dogs, to consider just about anything, before they consider an ethnic factor in any way that any extreme activist on the Left or in Government, might be able to view as anti-egalitarian.

The Jesse Jacksons & Al Sharptons, the Justice Department, a host of other agencies, including State & local, have a chilling reputation for being on the prowel. There are few things more frightening to Corporate management, today, than the thought that they might be targeted with a "Civil Rights" Complaint. Few will even send an email, today, which might offer the slightest hint of an intent to discriminate in any way on any forbidden basis--or even the awareness of a problem in a frightening area.

Now, have I suggested anything here, that does not fit with anybody else's observations?

Very well reasoned explanation of where we are, regarding the business community, and amnesty .Also, how they are literally puchasing Republican politicians to do their dirty work.

To your post, I would add only that Big Corporate is just as terrified of negative media attention as Big RINOs are. They know immigration boycotts are much more likely to come from the Left than the Right.
