Issa: The State Department’s Benghazi investigation has been “a charade” from day one

After the news that the four State Department employees who had been superficially and symbolically ‘held accountable’ following last September’s terrorist attack in Benghazi are now back at work at the State Department, House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa issued the appropriately scathing statement: “Obama administration officials repeatedly promised the families of victims and the American people that officials responsible for security failures would be held accountable. Instead of accountability, the State Department offered a charade that included false reports of firings and resignations and now ends in a game of musical chairs where no one misses a single day on the State Department payroll. It is now clear that the personnel actions taken by the Department in response to the Benghazi terrorist attacks was more of a public relations strategy than a measured response to a failure in leadership.”

Sadly, charades and musical chairs seems to be a pretty apt way of describing this particular bout of never-ending stonewalling. Following up on Fox News this morning, Issa enumerated some of the ways in which the State Department is still obfuscating on Congress’s requests coming up on a year after the attack, and that the Accountability Review Board report to which Democrats and the White House endlessly pointed as the authoritative source on what went down in Benghazi and who was responsible for it — but our new secretary of state evidently is ready to pretty much just throw it out the window.

Last time we looked the GOP controlled the house and could call any witness they wanted..cut off funding for State etc. If all we get his a few lame witness’s and stonewalling..it just means the GOP is useless.

Top of the hour radio news

Issa says State dept now wants to classify documents, ie up-classify previously provided docs when advised committee wants to release some docs to public.. Hmmmmmm

The Benghazi Affair is most troubling.. Some may question the inquisitioners and their approach, the findings regardless are no surprise.

This one will make contra arm’s soiree at covert ops look like a masterpiece.

Yup. But that carved in stone fact aside, look around at how many Freepers, much less regular people, demand we keep voting for them. Look how many have screaming fits whenever a third party is discussed or even flat out admit they will vote GOP no matter what.

Any wonder Issa does what he does? He knows there is no downside.

“This one will make contra arm’s soiree at covert ops look like a masterpiece.”

It already does. The only reason we haven’t gotten to the administration is ‘cause the Senate is controlled by Obamatrons.

Nice to know Issa has a good nest egg.. And pension to boot.

There is no excuse for Issa slow walking subpoenas and delivering some justice to all these loons. Then I heard Karl Rove defending such foot dragging as “great patience”.

This says it’s all typical Rove politics, to drag it out to the election. Disgraceful.

Or drag it out till a new investigation so the old can be forgotten.

If he actually investigated all the investigations he has going with no results, he would be a Time Lord...because there ain’t enough hours in the day for a mere mortal to put in that kind of work.

What, specifically, can Issa do? Tell him. I think he’s stymied by a lack of support from his own party.

Yup, done come to that conclusion myself.

Pretty much following the same path as the 'Fast and Furious' investigation, going nowhere by design.

IRS investigation, another joke on us.

The Kardashians,, claim to fame, dad tried to smuggle OJ across the border, the Money BooBoo passes gas,, ratings rise.. :-)

Roma is lucky.. There was no TV or much of a media back then.. But they still had corrupt leaders, an indifferent mass of folks, all the ingredients to implode,,

Ah here we go ;)

How about his job? How about actually using his powers to get info instead of waiting till whoever gets around to telling him to pound salt? How about filing for legal clarifications with federal courts on the Holder BS and every other stonewall?

How about not pretending to me a moron and letting Lerner slide until caught?

How about getting lerner back in a chair?

How about Hillary?

How about finding the whereabouts of all the 1 year missing people in Bhenghazi?

How about holding people accountable in the media/on the net if he has to and shame them into compliance?

How about you and the rest stop making excuses and start demanding he get off his RINO ass and actually investigate?

How about that?

Nonexistent to nil for any kind of support to date..

Actually the only reason we haven’t gotten anywhere with this is the MSM’s reluctance to do its job.

Want to get a reaction? Threaten to shut down the New York Times and subpeona all of its writers.
