I think the young man’s hatred is misdirected. I highly doubt the KKK is standing outside his home or burning a cross. I doubt that anyone was recently holding him against his will as a slave. I doubt a prospective employer, lender, or landlord is excluding him based on his skin tone. I doubt the educational system selected him for lesser opportunity to learn either.

Killing random white people for fun, or is evidenced here, a bigotry toward them? Perhaps Sharpton and Jackson will come to his resuce and shore up his hatred before he directs it where it really belongs... at himself.

Certainly not, but racism, or the conceit that white people are responsible for his own shortcomings, allows him to avoid blaming himself for, well, almost anything. It even provides him with a satisfying form of self affirmation when he can believe that he is striking back against an unjust repression.
