If just ONE of these punks were confronted with an armed person, we would hear how innocent they are/were from Al Sharpton and the BGI.

This has occurred all over I expect, Seattle I know of. And I don’t much care if the obliviots that are stumbling around with their nose in their electronic cloud rather than the real world gets their bling taken away.

It's why I still use my 1990s clam shell flip phone, and live and breathe situational awareness at all times. There is, of course, a surplus of mouth breathers out there who will kill you for your $20 plastic Timex, or the $3 in your pocket. Or, simply because they hate the skin you're in. That's why they invented high capacity magazines. Don't leave home without one.

At the train station, at a park, at a mall, etc. I notice some folks sit with their smartphone held out in front of them with their fingers, head down focused on the screen, almost like they’re in prayer. Certainly not always paying attention to surroundings... It would seem easy to run up, grab a phone, and take off. Or, to be assaulted.

Some folks are lucky it’s only a crime of theft. Not paying attention, not watching who is around you, not being suspicious of those you don’t know, and assuming you’re somehow safe at all times is a formula for a much worse crime.

"It's called apple picking where the subjects will look when people are talking on their iPhone or not paying attention...."

Total lack of situational awareness.
So many people just walk around clueless.
I relax when I'm in my own home or backyard - anywhere else I consider myself "on duty".
