I graduated High School in 1952, having received a BETTER education than today’s college graduates receive. I could not only ready my diploma, but could SPELL every word on it correctly without a computer “spell check”.
Forget Thomas Jefferson. Ask do we “Olde Folkes” approve of what is called “education” today?
The answer is not “no”. The answer is “HELL NO!!”

You are 100 percent correct. I graduated from high school in the Stone Age (1964). Our local school gave me the equivalent of 1 to 1-1/2 years’ education at the junior college level. For those not going on to college, our school had an industrial arts vocational program second to none. All of these old teachers are retired or dead. My old high school is now rated as a inner city ghetto school. Industrial arts has been replaced by feel good pap that pedals ignorance. Graduates are lucky to form coherent sentences. The JROTC program was dropped. “Public education” is an irrelevant joke on the kids now in school.
